The short version

This website does not set cookies. It does not run analytics, a tag manager, advertising pixels, session recording, or any third-party script that could set one on our behalf.

That is why there is no cookie banner. There is nothing for you to consent to, and a banner asking you to consent to nothing would be theatre.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small piece of data a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Cookies are how sites remember a login, keep a shopping basket, or — most often — recognise you across different sites for advertising.

Similar technologies include local storage, session storage and tracking pixels. This site uses none of them for tracking.

What your browser does store

Your browser will cache this site's images, fonts, stylesheets and scripts so that returning to it is fast. That is ordinary browser caching, it holds no information about you, and you can clear it at any time from your browser's settings.

Fonts are served from this domain rather than a third-party font host, so loading a page on this site does not tell anyone else that you did.

Your preferences that we do respect

The site reads two settings your browser or operating system already exposes, and reads them only while a page is open — nothing is stored and nothing is sent anywhere:

• “Reduce motion”, which turns off animation, parallax and the background WebGL scene across the whole site.
• “Data saver” and your connection type, which are used to skip loading the decorative 3D layer on metered or slow connections.

If this ever changes

If we add anything that sets a cookie or stores data on your device for our purposes, two things happen before it ships: this page is updated to list exactly what is set and why, and a consent mechanism is added so that non-essential cookies are only set after you agree.

We will not add tracking quietly and leave this page saying otherwise.
